@m7cdw-cyril

I stand corrected. Over and out.

Anything seems possible when you don't know what you're talking about.

@ronalex4203 it come up with so many errors that I managed to sell some of them but the latest one that I got got really stuck on was upload new library question mark?? And that's that's when I saw give up then I thought I'll find try and find somewhere to ask person up and at the same stage decided to get the 32 2DS pn32 to replace two 8266 I was going to try the same software out and the same code in on esp32 whether it would work obviously I know I would have to change the ESPN 8266 library for esp8285 library but where would the actual coding is the same so yeah that's what I was trying to get out where the coding is actually working when the code is working and the other thing I wasn't wasn't being able to get it connected to break but I thought if we get the code to work first and then maybe the blink afterwards because otherwise you just get too confusing I'm sorry it takes a lot for me to describe what's going on I suffer with dyslexia I hate you talking to me it ends up being a bit of a ramble and a bit longer than that needs to be that yeah ok thank you Cyril

  1. @robotbuilder if you look at the top of the code you would see that I've left the project owners name in there knowing forward it wasn't my project you just one I'm trying to do

Yes I understood it wasn't your project just one you were wanting to do or something similar. I don't think you understand how hard it is to figure out what is not working for you without being there. Also if someone cannot communicate without the continual fear of offending they lose interest.

Hi Cyril @m7cdw-cyril,

I offer a' few points to try to explain how forums like this one work:

  • There are several people on this forum who regularly jump in to try to help others. It is unlikely any of them will have done exactly the same as you are trying to do, but they may have enough experience to imagine your situation and help you. However, to do this you have to clearly describe what you have done and know, plus answer their questions.

  • Reproducing a project that someone else has designed or published is to your credit, not plagarism. The whole point about initiatives like 'open source software' or 'YouTube's that describe how to do something, is to encourage others, like you and me, to achieve something without having to start at the very beginning.

  • When trying to diagnose a problem on a complex system, one of the first priorities is to assess which bits are likely to 'fault free', so that you concentrate on the bits that are more likely to have a 'fault'. If someone copies and pastes a program from a 'trusted' source, it will probably be 'fault free', whilst if they typed in manually, they might have made some typing errors. Hence, it is common to be ask questions like this. From a diagnosis point of view, an accurately copied program is 'good news'!!

  • I know several people who are classified as dyslexic, including within my family. Whilst they may make spelling mistakes and/or need to read slowly and carefully, they are certainly not thick. They are among the most technically able people I know, all have at least one University science/engineering degree, and include at least two with Physics PhDs. So whilst I sympathise with your unhappy school experience, which sadly used to be all too common, please do not think that everybody considers dyslexia as synonynous with being 'thick'.

  • Patience and empathy ... we are all a little short of both from time to time ... please donate as much of yours to the forum as you can spare!

So, from someone who has already rambled on too long, if you would like some help I suggest you carefully describe your current situation. I can't guarantee we can fix your system, but without a full description I can guarantee we can't fix it!

Include:

  1. Description of your hardware setup. How is it connected?
  2. Your software set up .. e.g. are you using standard Arduino. What libraries have you added? If you present system has been 'much used and added to', consider starting with fresh new download in separate folder so that you know exactly what you are using.
  3. Your software code, including its origin.
  4. What happens when you try to compile it? A screenshot or two can be really helpful.
  5. What happens when you try to install it on the Arduino? Again screenshot?
  6. What happens when you try to run the program?

So Cyril, I hope you find this useful. Please do not give up, but instead try to find a way of getting the information you need and I hope you finally succeed.

Best wishes, Dave

@m7cdw-cyril If you could post a screen shot of the errors you are getting someone might be able to help.

I will make a wild guess that you have not set the board and/or port in the IDE so it can upload. Is it a Mac or PC that the IDE is running on, which IDE, Arduino, Arduino IDE 2, Visual Studio, or PlatformIO?
