So many people have been talking about the Raspberry Pi 4 lately I'm starting to feel like I'm out of the loop not owning one.   So I've been looking around and found the following kit for $99.

?

It appears to have everything I need.

  1. A Pi 4 with 4 GB memory.
  2. A clear plastic case with fan and cooling heat sinks.
  3. An official power supply with in-line swtich
  4. A micro to standard size HDMI cable.
  5. A 32GB SD card preloaded with NOOBS
  6. And really cute miniature SD Card-to-USB adapter.

Considering everything that comes with it is seems like a pretty nice package.

But do I really need yet another SBC!  NOPE!

So what should I do?  Give into my addiction and buy it?  Or seek professional help with my addiction problem?

It's okay to be honest with your replies. ?

@robo-pi - with apologies to the forum poet.

I know an old man
He had no Rpi
I don't know why
he had no Rpi
perhaps he'll die

I know an old man
He did some AI
It wiggled and jiggled
With no raspberry pi

He did some AI
Without an Rpi
But don't know why
He did some AI

I guess he'll die

I know an old man
He followed the herd
Isn't that absurd
To follow the herd

He followed the herd
To do do some AI
That wiggled and jiggled
With no raspberry pi
But I don't no why
He had no Rpi

Perhaps he'll ..... go get one ?

Resistance is futile

@byron

With no Raspberry Pi
he can still do AI
with NVIDIA Jestons
in oversupply

With Anaconda Python
and matrix mathematics
he can solve for perceptrons
and even quadratics

He can plot the results
in quarterion space
in higher dimensions
with virtue and grace

And when he's all done
and the AI is finished
the account in his bank
will not be diminished.

So fight off the urge
to buy useless machines
and take a big dose
of addiction vaccines

Resistance is futile
but poverty's worse
so I'll pass on the pie
and safeguard my purse.

(I wonder how long this ideal can survive) ?

Touche, Robo Pi, with your verse
My ditty is coming off worse
Jestson Nano's your board
The Pi's not in your hoard
Your hand it is not in your purse

But Robo has Pi in his name
So it is really a shame
The name is not right
With no Pi in sight
A new monika you must now claim

Robo Jetson Nano, that name is too long
It does not rhyme well for a song
But food you must eat
Your dinner to heat
The sound of the old dinner gong

But Robo Pi is the name we all know
That foodie desire it must go
So get an Rpi
Expel not a sigh
Go get it the forum to show

I have eight Raspberry Pies
from Zeroes to A and B size
while those I adore
there are none that are "4"
the latest of pies in the skies

With 4 gigabytes ram
and 4 cores to program
a Pi 4 would be the shazam

I'd be the coolest dude on the block
with a gigahertz Raspberry clock
and those who walk by
would let out a sigh
as they gave me an envious gawk

I'd reap the rewards of the fruit
and savor from GUI to root
with programming code
filling my ode
and making my brain astute

while this == True:
print("How do you do?")
then stop:
print("Bid you adieu.")

I'm a coding fanatic
an instructional addict
a binary language fiend

And now I'm ecstatic
and becoming dramatic
I should be quarantined

Just a hint, you must be taking the Pis, it was heaped on in spades.   So you deserve another plagiarised verse.

More Pis More Pis cheap as they can be
Bedad we found an advert selling Pis for 50p

We clicked on the website and were mightily surprised
To find the actual cost wasn't quite as advertised
We'd forgotten all the extras were also to be billed
But a bargain is a bargain and begorrah we were thrilled

Cheap Pis Cheap Pis, Cheap as they can be
It isn't every day we find a Pi for 50p

Dueling Sonneteers
plagiarizing words
the forum's greatest fears
materialized by nerds

All because of SBCs
being sold for just a song
what's another hundred bucks?
when you've been working all day long

Just buy the cyber merchandise
have sent by UPS!
and when it comes
you'll hear the drums
of a consumer who is blessed

He'll open up the package
and assemble all the parts
then write his fancy programs
for robotics and the arts

He'll create a talking robot
with whom he can converse
and the hundred bucks he spent
won't seem to be perverse

He build a talking Robot, with whom he could converse
The Robot told him "Robo Pi", I'm not your effing nurse
Iron your cloths and wash the floor, fix that squeaky door
Robo wondered what went wrong, he could take this no more

Examining the blueprint, he saw the missing part
The construction used a Jetson, the very Robots heart
Now if he had a Pi to put into its cavity
He would be treated nice with no depravity.

The moral of this ditty is so very plain to see
A lack of Pi's is just not wise, you need to be carefree
If you now don't buy one, I solemnly declare
Your'l get another ditty much to everyone's despair.

I better get the order in
to save the forum from despair
though money is an issue
as I'm not a millionaire.

But as we know I can't resist
the urge to buy this treat
without this toy I'm just a boy
who's life is incomplete.

I'll put it in the shopping cart
then fix that squeaky door
procrastinating further
I'll wash my clothes, and then the floor

And when the day is over
and I'm ready for the bed
I'll click on "Make the purchase"
and pretend it wasn't said

I'll go to sleep and dream of pies
with several cameras for their eyes
and imagine them as fairies
who will teach me to be wise

And when the package comes
and the dream has manifest
I'll be happy as a freaky geek
and never be depressed ?

@robo-py

Your latest rhyming pledge came late into the play,
Is it really ordered? Is it on its way?,
It truly could be ordered, that I may suppose,
But until I see it in your hands I'll subject you to prose.

I do detect some dither, some pro-crast-inate,
When will it be ordered, we must have a date,
And when you finally get it, in to your very hands,
The Pi will be receiving some impossible commands.

You want to give your PI some AI, do you not?,
You want to put the dear PI into some sort of bot!
You do the study now, you take the AI class,
But can you turn the dear old Pi from just a cute dumb-ass

The Pi will be receiving some impossible commands.

I have some tasks for the new Pi 4
in AI applications
and I can say without delay
they're sober expectations

It has to do with English
and the meaning of a phrase
it's based upon semantics
the computer will appraise

The answers it will give
to the phrases it is fed
will be intelligent as anyone
who's ever had a head

It will know when I am troubled
and know when I am glad
and become a great replacement
for both my mommy and my dad

Then I'll make a video
on everything I've done
and everyone who watches it
will elevate their thumb ?
