I think this illustrates the situation:
I was leaving the salon after getting a haircut, and it was pouring rain. So, I unlocked the car remotely and started to make a mad dash across the parking lot. Halfway there, I tripped and landed face-first on the asphalt.
I've had five stitches; two of my teeth were folded in and are now wired with hopes of saving them. My hands are all cut up, and I have scrapes all over my legs. But the paramedics checked me out, and I'm not showing signs of a concussion.
All this to avoid getting wet!
Needless to say, the format of the videos will change for a while, as I won't be shooting my smiling face anymore!
Amusingly, even though I own this forum, I couldn't think of an appropriate section to post this in. So I put it in "Show and Tell" as I am showing off my lovely haircut and telling you why the videos will be changing in the future!
Hope everyone else is having a better day than I am today!
😎

Sure you can learn to be a programmer, it will take the same amount of time for me to learn to be a Doctor.
Wow ! Hope you make a fast and pain-free recovery.
Sounds like you need to consider switching to extra high-tread sneakers or a ponytail 🙂
Anything seems possible when you don't know what you're talking about.
I thought to make a joke to cheer you up, but then I though I bet it hurts you to smile ( and if you smile you may be looking a bit like the James Bond Jaws ), so I best send you a gloomy thought. Its going to rain non stop in Montreal just like the weather we've been having in my bit of the UK. Hope you mend soon and expect to see the just the back of your head in the next video. 😶
Hi Bill @dronebot-workshop,
Sorry to hear about your mishap. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I am sure you must spend a tremendous amount of time preparing those blogs and videos, so I doubt if a short break from the cameras will waste any of your time.
Best wishes, Dave

Actually, the next video will still feature my smiling face, as I recorded that part a few days ago. Someone on YouTube suggested that I create an AI "Bill Avatar" for the future ones!
It's a bit ironic. I'm supposed to be the caregiver for my mother, and today, the roles are reversed. So, my mom is busy googling recipes for stuff you can eat after dental surgery (made a very nice cream of chicken soup for me tonight). The steak I had planned to BBQ on Friday has been postponed!
Thanks for the kind words everyone.

@dronebot-workshop I've been waiting on a new video.❤️👍.
Hi Bill.
Get well and healthy ! Don't be disappointed, shit happens to the best of us !

The real problem is not the image. You could just put an old image like a static image, or you could try to pixelate the nose and the mouth. lol :)) But the real demage is the voice. I had a cold, and I couldn't record a voice-over for a video. So hope you can speak normally with your bended teeth.

Sometimes you can help others just saying thank you 🙂
I can't believe how I ended up spending the day today.
After a not-so-great 3-hour sleep, I was awakened by a crash and a scream. This time, it was my mother's turn to have an accident; she fell in the bathroom and sliced her forehead badly on the corner of the radiator.
So I just got back from spending 10 hours in the hospital with her. It's a different hospital than the one I went to yesterday. I hadn't intended to tour all the hospitals in Montreal, but it seems like I am anyway (actually, we have several more, but only three English ones). And I have now had two ambulance rides within 24 hours!
Mom got 6 stitches, one more than me, so she's winning the contest!

Wow ! I hope your run of Bad Luck ends soon.

@dronebot-workshop OMG, I do hope the 'comes in three' does NOT happen. Seriously though, I am hoping for a speedy recovery for both you and your Mom and a very boring rest of the year at least.

Yes, I'm at the point where I'm scared to leave Mom out of my sight. I feel like strapping her into her bed and leaving her there! But that would be cruel. So I ordered her a knee brace (her knee giving out caused today's fall), some more grab bars, and more corner protectors. By the end of the weekend, I plan on having every possible sharp surface in the house padded.
On another related issue, I got the idea today that I could start doing the videos with a mask on. I had to wear one all day at the hospital, of course, and it seemed to cover most of my injury. In fact, when I put it on, Mom said, "You should just do your videos with a mask."
And maybe change the site to the Lone Ranger Workshop"!
Thoughts?

But the Lone Ranger kind of mask hides the wrong part of your face. What you need to consider is the 'Ben Casey" workshop or "Doctor Kildare" botshop. God, I'm getting old 🙂

At least your weren't attacked by an AI robot in your shop. Don't worry about the video format. Shit happens. At least your are OK.
