Well thanks for that nice thought, and I could have given you a brace of Rpi's as a thank-you 😀

Oooooo Weeeeee Baby!  A brace of pies! 😮

Ok, I think I just solved our problem.

I'll build a large airplane out of wood and have it fly across the pond to your doorstep using an Arduino and GPS.  Then when it lands you can disassemble it and use all the lumber. 😊

Since the pies are lightweight you can just send them to me normal post. 🤣

Just to update:

I finally got pyttsx3 installed and the Rpi is now talking.   I need to do a lot of work on the voice yet.   It seems to only have a male voice and it's not very good either.  I haven't been able to find a female voice on it yet.  But I think I'll be able to download one somewhere.   I definitely want a female voice for my robot.  In fact, I've already designed the voice using Microsoft Speech Platform.  I'd like to try to duplicate that voice as close as possible.  But those are things on the TO DO list.  At least I got pyttsx3 installed and the Pi is talking.

Next challenge is to install PocketSphinx for the speech recognition engine and I'll be all set.   So I'm almost there with the tools set up.

I don't remember if I had posted previous progress.  But I currently have all of the following up and running properly.

  • VokoScreen recorder
  • Python3 with Numpy and Matplotlib
  • Jupyter Notebook (finally working properly)
  • Code OSS Visual Studio IDE all set up.
  • And now Pyttsx3 TTS engine.

All I have left to do is set up PocketSphinx and I'll finally be home free!

As soon as I get this all sorted I'll make a copy of the System SD card so I don't need to do this all over again.  If I ever do by a second Pi I can just plug in the SD card and I'll be all set up on it too.  That's one thing that's nice about these little SBCs.

I found a female voice that is supposed to be compatible with espeak which is the driver that pyttsx3 uses on Linux.  It looks like I'll now need to get a Ph.D. in espeak and pyttsx3 just to install it.

Oh well, I guess if I'm going to be working with a speech engine I'll need to learn exactly how they work.  Apparently I'll need to be making videos on speech engine technology for quite a while before I can move forward to working on my Semantic AI model.

Perhaps he'll ..... go get one ?
Resistance is futile

That was me. I planed something else before Raspberry Pi, I could resist only 1 year and few months :)))

Well that's fine and dandy except I can't install anything on it because there's no internet connection.  So I've been studying using Google searches to figure out how to set up the WiFi from the command prompt, but nothing I've found has helped.  Every command I try isn't recognized.   Or it tells me that I need to install something first.  The problem is that I can't install anything on it until I get the Internet connection.

Bro, I know that pain, as I struggle with it too :))
