I have 2 different sized pins

The top set is the standard 10 per inch, the bottom appears to be 12 and the pins are smaller in diameter and long projection, but appear identical in the short projection. Did I get ripped off, or are the smaller set for a different use/device?

First computer 1959. Retired from my own computer company 2004.
Hardware - Expert in 1401, and 360, fairly knowledge in PC plus numerous MPU's and MCU's
Major Languages - Machine language, 360 Macro Assembler, Intel Assembler, PL/I and PL1, Pascal, Basic, C plus numerous job control and scripting languages.
Sure you can learn to be a programmer, it will take the same amount of time for me to learn to be a Doctor.

You didn't get ripped off, the smaller version is what's known as 2mm pitch versus the 2.54mm that you may be used to.

There are devices and boards for the smaller pitch, but they're not as common.

Anything seems possible when you don't know what you're talking about.

@will I just checked back through my orders and yes, I did order some 2mm. I doubt if I knew they were different at the time. Only 18 pieces for $10.44 so not a big problem.
