  Good luck with your analysis ... my guess is you will find the power supply arrangement of your 'clone' board will be fairly similar to the circuit diagram, although for cheapness, they might omit the 5V switching arrangement, just joining the 5V output from 1117 to the 5V coming from the USB via a polyfuse. (The 1117 may have different markings, but is usually recognisable in a SOT-223 package.)

'Cooked' voltage regulators I have found in the past have kindly gone open circuit, protecting the rest of the board. There is a chance it will have passed a higher voltage to the Uno processor but with a little bit of good luck, a new regulator will be all you need. Assuming the 1117 is the one you think is 'cooked', then the board should still power up via the USB ... if it doesn't then a new board is maybe your best option.
