How many watts ac do you think a RPI  pulls running at a good clip for instance doing a print

None at all

The Pi runs on DC.

True but it draws on ac I was just wondering how many watts wall converter pulls and if it draws more as it works harder

That's interesting. I've thought about that for years, but never put a meter to a thing to test it

Unless there is a variable missing my my equation, it would seem to me that (and I could be completely wrong about this, and I probably am, so don't listen to me, because the fact that there can even BE what's known as a "brownout" proves my theory wrong)

The wall wart is a transformer. There is no electrical connection between the input coil and the output coil. It runs on the erupting and collapsing of the magnetic field provided by the alternating current on the input side of the coil

The output side of the coil takes the induced magnetic field and creates voltage from the magnetic field erupting and collapsing

So, even tho the existence of the word "brownout" proves me wrong, I don't see how the input side can "pull" more electricity than the magnetic field provides

If, by some strange chance I happen to not be wrong, the wall wart should, according to my current understanding, which is obviously lacking, logically "pull" from the output side the same whether there is a load on the output side or not

I can't see it pulling more than 14 to 25 watts tops if that 19 in TV pull 14 watts on average pi might only pull 9 or so

Just downloading octoprint says compatible with everything but pi 4 these pi 4 sure are unique almost nothing works with them they should have waited another year to release it  in my opinion a little to early.

There's no reason in the world to use a Pi4 for Octo-Print. It's completely overpowered for that task and a waste of a good computer

That's like putting a Porsche engine in a tractor

Killing a mosquito with a bazooka

Getting a drink of water from a firehose

Use a 3B, or a 3B+, or even a ZeroW would work

I know but I'm a little disappointed even though over powered it should still work with all the stuff so I'll say its limited in what it can do . I don't think the makers of pi 4 knew that it would be so incompatible but I'm sure it won't be long before we see octo version for pi 4 and all the other things for it they were getting enough milage out of the 3 b to release it this fast but that's tech stock for you it doesn't matter how much money something makes the investor's are always going to cry for more . but I'll get a 3 b+ for octo print so I have an extra pi 4 I'm just thinking of what I can do with it this robots computer section has already spilled over to a support stand with mouse keyboard and monitor  I'll have to get some suggestion's

Speak of the devil and the devil will rise!

Ok so it's not really a Porsche, it's a Valkyrie.   But hey, not bad for a quick Google search huh?

I have a suggestion for you... Use the Pi4 as the Master node in the ROS package for the robot you've built

As Master it needs to have enough computing power to absorb all the data from the sensors while calculating its trajectory thru the world via the visual data it inputs from the camera

@robo-pi

Just out of curiosity... At what speed does the typical tractor plow a typical field ?

I'm not sure whether this is a serious question or the precursor for a joke. ?

I'd say it all depends on how crazy the farmer is. ?

I've personally pulled plows so fast that the dirt being  plowed out was scattered so wide and far that there was no furrow next to the ditch.   I don't think that's a recommended procedure though. ?

The other problem with plowing that fast is that if you hit a major obstacle or large rock you'll be sure to brake something. (don't as me how I know this) ?

If I had as many tractors as I broke when I was a young  idiot I'd have quite a few tractors.   But now I'm an old idiot with only two tractors.  And I take extremely good care of those babies.   So this old idiot has learned his lessons.  FINALLY!  (At least in the one department) ?

I'm still a major idiot in a gazillion other areas.  But I gotta learn one thing at a time.  My brain is a single core processor.   I was born in 1949.  The transistor was only just being invented.   So no IC's in this brain.  It's all vacuum tubes and Nixie displays.

@robo-pi Maybe you'd like this one ?... You'd just have to put a Jetson into it and teach it to climb trees ? ?
