Hi,

I joined Dronebot to learn from other like minded people and also to add to the collective of experience and knowledge base within the limits of my own experiences and knowledge.

I retired in 2014 from my job as Head of Technology for a progressive UK Midlands Police Force and, although my programming experiences date a long way back, I took the opportunity to revisit a time in my career that was special to me and enormously rewarding.

I discovered Arduino technologies and got into using C++ to develop a wide range of applications (sketches in Arduino speak) which I have shared with others via the Arduino Project Hub.  In joining Dronebot, I hope to extend the communities I am able to share techniques, technologies, methods and education with.

My approach to code development is very straight forward - keep it simple, adopt a self-documenting style and provide good quality documented resources.

I look forward to interacting with the Dronebot community.

Hi Ron welcome.

Your projects on the Arduino Project Hub are well worth a study for those interested in learning to program the Arduino.

@ronbentley1 - I had a peep at your projects and was impressed, especially with the really excellent documentation.  And using upto 2040 pins! It had not crossed my mind that one could harness the use of that many and I'm sure using a bunch of pins (maybe not quite that many 😯) its going to be useful for me for some future project .

As I've just bookmarked you, I share the links so that others can have handy links to peruse.

Look forward to more good stuff 😀

Welcome Ron - I can't argue with your programming philosophy. I just signed up on the project hub (I'm considerably newer at the arduino/maker thing) - but I'm an elder gent with a long history in software development.

Looking forward to seeing about. (Runs off to check out the links to your stuff, above)
