Hello All,
My name is Gaetano. I am a secondary school teacher from Melbourne, Australia. I have been teaching materials design, basic electronics and systems engineering for the last 18 years. My back ground is Civil Engineering and I have always loved tinkering, learning how to solve problems and design projects for my students to learn from. I have little experience in C++ or using an Arduino, but I have some experience using Picaxe which is a BASIC micro-controller. I wanted to join this forum for a number of reasons, one based on the videos presented by Bill, the amount of work that he puts in is very impressive, the other is to interact with other people that I can share and learn from.
Regards
Gaetano
Wish I could have taken your subjects in high school, jus' sayin' 🙂 Interested to see what you're working on. Lots of great folks here, so enjoy 🙂

Hello Biny,
Thanks for the reply. In my junior classes I am focusing on them learning to solder a pcb for an amplifier that they use with their electric guitar that they make in the following year. I have a robotics class that is making micro controller cranes and in my senior year I am working on an automatic gate that opens when an ultrasonic sensor has the vehicle within range. I am not well versed in coding nor electronics so I have had to teach myself and when it works its great, when it doesn't then its not.
Sounds great (guitarist here 😉 ) ... learn as you go not a bad approach. Software is my chicken coop - happy to help.

Unfortunately I am not musical, thank you for the offer for coding help.
