@zander

I would assume that's the place on the imager. I was looking for the step by step instructions. Usually there is some show stopping foible that one has to spend endless hours on forums to solve. It's nice to avoid that.

@dualfuel As I recall when I did mine to get the new SDD boot support it was fairly straightforward, but do a search on something like boot a pi4 from usb to find the thread on install a new eeprom.

Lol, that was the point of asking for the link...so I don't have to search. That's why I am here. I post what I have so others don't have to look so hard. There are endless rabbit holes to fall down and only so much time before I am deprecated.

@dualfuel sudo apt full-upgrade for a full upgrade, just sudo rpi-eeprom-update for only the eeprom. Lot's of YT's showing this. I recommend a full-upgrade.

@duce-robot Remember to remove the SD card so it picks up the SSD or HDD. There is a setting somewhere to tell the firmware to boot from SSD or card first but if only one is in it doesn't matter.

@zander I didn't  seem to have a problem I flashed the eprom image to a card put it in turned on the pi the green light flashed rapidly the screen turned green I turned off pi removed sd put in another newly flashed card with debian buster turned it on and it took a minute  but it booted and worked well also I did this with another pi 4 I thought for sure I roasted and it worked as well 😁👍if I run in to any issues I'll chime in.
