Just to introduce myself. I'm near 60 and have been in tech for 40 years. I have the dubious memory of choosing software, because all my electronics experiments back then had a funny burning smell lol.
I got into hobby electronics a while back but have taken a break over the past 4 years or so. I never really built a workbench/shop so it was always a pull a few things out on the dinner table and then pack them up when we needed to have dinner.
I'm an avid learner on YouTube and watch heaps of maker, science, engineering and electronics channels which is how I can to be here.
I now want to get back to trying home automation, since the summer is over and we're now into autumn. As my first project I want to build a work space/bench in my garage where I can have my stuff all set up to just play whenever I feel burning my fingers and the odd resister.
Anyway that enough about me. Look forward to chatting with some of you over the coming months.
