I've never used pronterface, but i just looked it up and it looks like you're trying to slice a file on a remote computer

Is the remote computer yours ?

Is the file being sliced yours ?

I downloaded the zip for print run  pronterface is part of it  but it wasn't blocked  but I can't find what to open pronsole with won't work with word or note pad kind of a depressant  the read me parts open in print run but I have yet to open pronsole it has a nice icon though ! I wonder what app opens it ? Without the pronsole console can't set any parts of the printer or send commands so its in suspended animation till something changes on that front . I wonder what else works with ramps 1.4 ?

Ok. Now I understand what you're trying to do, and I think you're over complicating things

But, that's just my opinion based on what I THINK you're trying to do

If you're going to be using Octo-Print, then you don't need Pronterface

Neither Octo-Print nor pronterface is running directly on the printer. You don't stick them into the controller board

They're just interfaces

Marlin goes into the controller board via the Arduino, then you talk to the printer with either Pronterface, or Octo-Print. Since I chose Octo-Print over Pronterface, I can't tell you much about Pronterface, but I CAN tell you that you don't need both... BUT...

If you're going to be running the printer on the bot, you probably want Octo-Print, because it was made specifically to be REMOTE. And when I say remote, I mean totally remote. As in from your phone while you're in Zimbabwe (if you can get a cell signal there. Never been there, so I don't know for sure) whereas, from what I can tell, Pronterface physically connects to the printer, which, I believe, is not what you're looking for

So, anyway, if yer trying to put Pronterface on the printer, forget it, that's not what it was made for

I was mainly was just trying to open the control console for pronterface so I can set up the printer since it is a scratch build in need pronsole to home and set many things I was having a hard time opening the console I can't find an app that can open it when I try to open the console it asks how do you want to open this file look for an app in the app store but which app note pad doesn't work nor does word pad that's the only problem left with it I have been having this problem for some time good thing marlin works with note pad this I think is a settings issue and I can't figure it out I have trouble with some zip libraries   like today with the sharps 10 80 cm library downloaded from github  error not a valid library there's a ghost in the machine I think its in the settings but I don't know enough to weed it out.

Okay. One step at a time here

At some point (that point being right now) you'll need to connect a computer (via usb port) to the controller board using the same port that you uploaded marlin from

You could use a Pi and Octo-Print, or a computer and use pronterface. You need to make a choice

If you choose Pronterface, I can only go thru what I read on the web cuz I've never used it

If you choose Octo, I can walk you thru it step by step

Octo-Print talks to the controller board

All you need to do is make sure yer talking at the same speed. Usually 115200 (mine is set to auto, but it connects at 115200), and what printer clone board yer using so it knows what size and stuff

My Anet A8 isn't listed in Octo-Print's list of acknowledged printers, yet it works anyway cuz I just told it that my printer runs at 220 x 220 x 240. Marlin converts the rest of the language into Octo-Print language, and the rest is magic

Okay, I got it working again

So I'm looking at the Jetbot notebook, and I don't specifically see face recognition, although it DOES allow you to register an "item" for it to follow. I suspect that registering a face for it to follow would be somewhat pointless, as, if it's following you, it can't logically see your face now, can it ?

Maybe "Butt Recognition", eh ?

Or Fiducial Symbol Recognition

Anyway, here's a snippet from that part of the notebook...

jetbotfollow

There's also the PixyCam which is sitting on my shelf getting absolutely no attention whatsoever and is probably feeling quite lonely and forlorn right about now as I'm talking about smart cameras and completely leaving him out of the conversation

I already gave it wheels once, but it refused to follow me so I gave up on it
