I noticed that there are scores kept on individuals such as number of post, topics, questions, answers, comments and in particular liked and received likes. It is a practice I wasn't really conscious of and thus I haven't given any likes even if I liked them. Also I would have to login to do it anyway which I only do when posting not when just reading posts. Also the likes don't tell anyone what posts they liked. So don't take offence I have never liked any posts because I have. Anyway it doesn't tell you what posts you actually liked. I am not sure how useful it is and may be a big negative if you don't get many likes? I don't see a competition for likes to be useful? What might be useful is being able to search the posts of a particular member to help build up a biopic of their particular interests?
A wise man once said "If you live your life constantly concerned with what other people think of you, you end up living your life for other people when you should be living your life for yourself"
Actually, I just googled it, and I can't find it anywhere, so it must've been me who said it
Which probably means that whoever said it probably wasn't so wise after all
I wonder how many "likes" I'll get if I post that on twitter
I don't mark people's posts with a like often enough either. But then I never viewed getting likes as a competition. I think the idea behind it is that if you view a person's profile and they have a lot of like it's supposed to be an indication that people like what they have to day in general and their posts may be worth reading. But as @casey points out many people may have liked their posts and just never bothered to click on the like button. Other people may actually have a lot of like simple because someone is following them that clicks on the like button all the time. So I'm not sure how much value they actually have.
On another note I see that my "rating" is only 8 out of 10. Makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong that I don't have a 10/10 rating? 🤣
I don't even know what a person needs to do to get ratings, or how I got the 8 I got. I think it might come down to how much a person posts. If that's the case I probably got 8/10 because of all the poetry I used to post.

Are you say in that you no longer are posting poetry? I was sort of hoping that you'd take it to the next level and add music to your poems, especially as I fixed the audio player issue for you!
🤗
Actually I have to admit that I also didn't know what a "Member Rating" was, or why mine was only 6/10. It's not mentioned in the software guide for the forum, so I posted the question on their support forum. And they responded as follows:
There are ten levels of User Ranks and it based on the number of posts.
For example, if the number of post:
1. 250 or more post - the rating level is 5 -> "5/10"
2. 500 and more post - the rating level is 6 -> "6/10"
3. 2500 and more posts - the rating level is 9 -> "9/10"
4. 5000 and more posts - the rating level is 10 -> "10/10" and etc.
So @robo-pi has the highest rating of all of us due to the high number of posts he has made. If he makes 3,355 more posts he will be 10/10. And I'll need to upgrade the servers hard drive space!
Personally I don't see that much of a difference between your "rating" and your "level", as they are both just a reflection of the number of posts you have made - really just two ways of saying the same thing IMHO. So it has nothing to do with the engagement of your posts, or with the quality of your poetry!
So don't take offence I have never liked any posts because I have
Glad you said that, as I've been quite offended by the lack of "likes" you have given me!
😪
Just kidding, of course!
I give a post a "Like" when I indeed appreciate it but don't have time to answer it. That way the author of the post knows that I've read the post and appreciated the time they spent creating it. Thye will get a notification saying "DroneBot Workshop Liked your post", which I'm sure will be a source of immense happiness and joy!
With that said I just "liked" all of your posts in this thread!

I'm eight of ten
cause I like to blab
I post my rhymes
like a hermit crab
They bring me likes
I don't deserve
for serving up
an ode hors d'oeuvre

And now this poem's gone south
the rhymes not fit for a human mouth
the words sound more like donkey dung
than flowing from an artsy tongue
Rhyming for the sake of rhyme
is a budding poet's greatest crime
I felt coerced to write the chime
to fit the topic's paradigm
See. I've lost my touch. 🤣
I was sort of hoping that you'd take it to the next level and add music to your poems, especially as I fixed the audio player issue for you!
I actually wrote a jazz song for the DroneBot Workshop. All the lyrics are pretty well done. Although one line used to say, "DB1 is the star of the show". I'll need to replace that line with something else I guess.
The hold up is that I'll need to play it. I actually wrote all the music from scratch too. And I've been practicing the drum, bass guitar, and keyboard parts. I have the trumpet part down pretty well.
I was going to do it in a video. But I've been tempted to just record it as audio only and maybe use a standard jazz backing track so all I'll need to do is sing the lyrics and add the trumpet. The video isn't likely to be out for a year. That's how bad I am at the drums! 🤣
Actually that's because I wrote a unique drum part that isn't your standard beat. But now I can't play it. I don't have the limb independence yet. It's sounds too robotic. Maybe I should go back to the standard drum beat.

@robo-pi OK you just made my morning! Nice job. Oh, by the way I gave you a "like" to help your ratings 🙂
