DUH, here is the ESP32-CAM video link, I have maybe 10 of these for a video observation system I am going to build soon. Lot cheaper than a Pi.

@peterpoggi , @ronalex4203,  Yes , I just purchased one of those HuskyLens, and have been playing with it of two days now...lol

The problem I'm having is I can't up date the new version software because, (as I suspect) the Windows 7 version on my PC and windows 8 on my laptop may not be compatible with the Huskylens uploader_v2.1, so I can't load the new firmware  ver 0.5.1a.. I need it to be able to use some of the other functions like renaming ID of object and object classification, which is not on this version which is ver: 0.4.7bStable.

That's the problem with an old system, not upward compatible lol

Well, I'll figure out something..but if either of you fellas have any suggestions..I'm all eyes..or is it ears?

kind regards,

LouisR

@inst-tech I haven't looked into that device as yet, what exactly is the problem? I am unfamiliar with an uploader like that, usually these arduino based things use either USB or FTDI. Links, screen snaps will help.

@ronalex4203, Thanks.. I replied to @oracid to ask how he managed to load the HuskyLens Uploader_v2.1, and then the new version firmware 0.5.1a that's apparently needed to do some of the other functions, like object classification, and maybe using the huskylens.setCustomName() function, which I can't get it to work either..(par for the course).. I'll keep at it until I figure it all out..In the meantime, to answer your question.

scree shot of upLoader file located in my downloads directory, and the error I get when trying to run that file.

I look at the security setting and I seem to have permission to run these files, but I did note that when Winzip unzipped it to the download dir., and I go to open it to run, I get this  third screen..

screenshot of error trying to run it

Kind regards

@inst-tech I have not yet purchased the HuskyLens, but I too receive this warning on some executable files. If it's something that I obtained from a reliable source, and I would consider them likely trusted, I would proceed with opening the file.  But that's certainly a risk that only you can decide.

@peterpoggi This rings a bell, but I can't recall the specifics. It's to do with USB permissions. Not sure if ZI ran into it on this forum or somewhere else, maybe the arduino site. Try a strict google search to see what shakes out. BTW, did Bill have to do this, if so how?

@inst-tech Right click and select Properties. See if it is blocked, if it is un-block it.

I did a check on the file properties as you suggested, didn't see anything, so tried using version compatibility .. and when I tried to run it, a message came up on the screen..

Look in the lower right hand corner of the PNG file.. looks to me like  PCMatic Supershield is blocking it for running..what do you think?

It's definitely getting blocked by PCMatic.

@inst-tech That's pretty obvious, why do you have that software anyway? Normal windows is pretty secure. IIRC, this is the 2nd time you have had a major problem due to this security add-on.

@ronalex4203, Fixed it.. had to disable the Supershield long enough to run the firmware update..

wish I had seem that error message earlier..but it only appears for a second and so I kept missing it.

All is good now, so I'' see if I can get the huskyLens to do that setCustomName() procedure tomorrow..

I'm exhausted with all this troubleshooting...lol

Thanks for the help guys..TTYL..
