Is this real or what?
It may not be real today, but how far are we from creating this???
It's kind of scary thinking about what the military (or even the police) might end up employing some day.

Is this real or what?
A month ago, I asked myself the same question when I saw the same team do another video, I think with the same robot, and it grabbed the gun off the team member aggressively when it got pissed off.
It's hard to believe it's real, but it sure looks pretty real!

It says in the description: "This video is a comedic parody"
It's a CGI animation. But it was inspired by the work being done at Boston Dynamics. And so there are actual real robots that can pretty much do the same physical things. The only difference at this point is the level of AI.
In other words, the robots are already real. All that is required to make them behave as in this video is a sufficient AI software. And with AI cars being developed to be put on the roads in a major way supposedly "very soon". It's a safe bet to figure that AI soldiers/police will be soon to follow. The physical bodies are basically already built so that part is already done.

Thank's, I didn't read the description, but like I said, it sure looks pretty real!
I have also watched a number of videos from Boston Dynamics, and although I agree they have come along way, however, I still don't think they have the required dexterity and movement as demonstrated in this CGI to become good soldiers or police, yet, but probably not far away. As for AI, the new quantum computer recently spread across the news could be just the ticket to raise AI potential enough to fulfill the dream.
