Forget the UK election and the Trump impeachment, I have really big news to share:
I spent most of yesterday in the workshop soldering stuff! And I'm soldering stuff right now (well, actually I'm typing this post right now but when I finish I'm going back to the workshop). And when I get back from running some errands this morning I'm going to do more soldering!

OK, so maybe it won't be the headline on the BBC this morning. But here is why it is significant.
In the last few weeks, I've been unable to work on the stuff I really love working on. Between taking care of family issues, creating content for YouTube, dealing with hackers (the DroneBot Workshop website now gets an average of over 1,000 hacking attempts per day) and even buying another car to replace my old 2007 Ford Taurus I have neglected my favorite project, my DB1 robot.
In fact, the top section of DB1 actually had dust on it! And as I'm a fanatical house cleaner (if you think my workshop is neat you should see the rest of my house) that made it the only place in the house that has dust. Completely unacceptable!
So FINALLY everything has settled down enough to get back at it. And what DB1 needs most of all now is to actually get the hardware finished. In other words, it needs soldering!
And I'm loving it, it really feels good to finally get back at it. And once I'm finished I'll work on the next most important project - soundproofing my workshop. So instead of having to get up at 2:30 am every day (which is what I have to do now) so that I can record before my neighbors wake up and make noise I will be able to make videos any time I want. It should drastically increase my video output, and I may even be able to go to bed after 7 pm again - imagine that!

Mount a camera in the workshop! I'd rather watch you smoke some solder than watch those other events on the Boob-Tube. ?
