DC converted to ac and back to DC for 3d printer is this sane ? Will it work ? I think so .
is this sane ?
I, of all people, am eminently unqualified to answer that question
Will it work ?
Probably. But I don't think that's the proper question. I think the question should be "Is it necessary ?"
Does the invertor draw more power from the battery while the printer is printing ? I've never metered one while it was operating, so I don't know the answer to that one. I do know that you can overload them, cuz I've done that. I also know that they suck power whether it's being used or not
They are actually pretty reasonable on power .the unit draws 9 watts I figured since the average printer draws 60 watts per hour and I have MOSFET boards on bed and hot end that it in theory it should run efficiently on a 18 amp hour battery but I haven't powered it should it be OK if I power the mosfet 's off second power supply there just isn't enough outlets on the first one
