How do you do animated faces on flat panels?

I'd like to be able to call up animations smile, sad whatever animations. Are these animations called by scripts, maybe even reactive to voice synthesis etc. or eyes that follow you using the camera?

Have you seen this?

Here is a pic from net

@angelob

Animations are easy to do what language are you using?

This needs to be moved to another section such as other robotics forum - other robots section.

Which forum topic (or is there one) do we put a question regarding the various Arduino kits that are available for sale? I'm finally ready to get started and eventually, hopefully, get into some biometrics based projects.

I'm trying to choose which kit to purchase. I am beginning with no (zero) components. No micro processors, no components (resistors, LEDs, servos, etc), no sensors. I'm looking for the most comprehensive, robust, Arduino Mega kit with lots of general sensors and components, breadboard, connectors, etc, to begin building up my initial inventory.

There are soooo many kits out there!  Any suggestions for the most comprehensive kit out there?
