Johnnie from Eastern Washington State

Hi folks; this is Johnnie from Eastern Washington State.

I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself.

I am a retired business software guy that has always had an interest in electronics as a hobby. It always seemed I had other more important things to do but now I feel like catching up and learning as much as possible. I have a collection of parts I have accumulated since 40+ years ago back in the Popular Electronics days. I have some mental disorder that makes me think if I buy the parts the projects will do themselves.

I have done a few real projects and a lot of experiments with microcontrollers. My new friend is the XAIO which I saw demonstrated on DBW which I really like. Besides those I have a bunch of ESP8266 and ESP32 modules waiting to find a home in a project.

My most recent project is a gas leak detector I just finished using the XAIO and four MQ sensors. It has a small 128x32 OLED to show the current readings and a fan to sniff around.

Happy to be here and will probably be asking more questions than I can answer. 😀
