Hello!  My name is Glenn and I live in Florida, USA.  Currently, I am a technology, engineering, and robotics teacher at the middle school level.  Within my classroom students design, build, and test various engineering concepts such as: bridges, magnetic levitation vehicles, planes, and rockets.  Students also perform technical drawing, both on paper and on the computer.  However, my favorite unit is automation and robotics!  Students build using the Vex ecosystem, designing and coding their solutions to various challenges.

I also coach two competitive robotics events – First Tech Challenge and SeaPearch.   The First Tech Challenge team consists of at least 15 students and their challenge is to design, build, and test a robotics creation to meet the game challenge that changes every year.  They also must document their journey using an engineering notebook.  Things are similar on the Seaperch side except that the robot is an underwater ROV.    These two activities provide a wealth of opportunity for students to study a myriad of engineering principles and they are a great deal of fun!

At home I like to tinker with Arduino and small mechatronics projects.  I am still very much in the learning phases of this realm, but I am excited to learn and would like to take this platform to my classroom someday.  I found the DBW with the DB1 series and instantly became hooked.  I have a few robotics projects of my own that I am considering morphing into my own version of DB1, with the bonus that I am very familiar with the Actobotics ecosystem that he is made from.

I look forward to many hours on the forum meeting each of you and learning from all of the talent present.  Have a great New Year!
