Hi all,

Male from Brussels, Belgium,  59 years old.  I have worked for over 30 years in ICT (software development and management).  Was made redundant a few years ago, and unemployment services pressured me to do a training to get a technical update.  So ... I took up the challenge, enrolled again in college and now i'm doing a two-years training in electromechanical engineering & industrial automation.

I had my first Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi a few years ago, but didn't really study them.  During one of the courses at college we started using an Arduino, so now it seems I have to take things seriously (but i'm also enjoying myself while doing that).  Bought another Uno and four Arduino Nano, and now i'm bit by bit getting ready to make useful things, in stead of reproducing the easy projects in the Arduino Starter Guide.

Obviously, programming is not an issue, it's getting out of the computer and into the "real" world that makes things interesting and new.

Got the "Practical Electronics for Inventors" at XMAS, so now in addition to electromechanical things (electricity, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics etc etc etc) i've taken up electronics as well.

I'm sure i'll have a lot of questions, hoping to learn from you guys here.

Keep it safe !

Got the "Practical Electronics for Inventors" at XMAS ...

Welcome to the forum Evert.

As a self taught electronic hobbyist I would have found the book too dry and technical.
