During the pandemic I wanted to learn something new, so after getting proficient with a 3d printer and teaching myself how to design things for it, the next step for me was electonics with microcontrollers. I have been in the software industry since 1982 so languages like C, C++ for a microcontroller are no problem. Now I am moving more and more into the connecting stuff up and understanding why certain things are the way they are. With Youtube I found the dronebotworkshop and several other channels that help a lot. Still questions remain and I hope that the community here can accept and answer the probably terrible and noob questions I want to ask.

I am 60, dutch, happily married and (since last monday) grandpa of 3 🙂 I blog sometimes which can be found https://www.ronsmits.org

So, happy to be here.

Ron

Welcome to our merry band! I'm working on my first 3D print design (an Arduino + power + breadboards mounting surface for my bench) and I'm sure I'm going to bolox it up fabulously, lol. Lots of helpful folks here, so have fun. 🙂

@binaryrhyme 3d designing is fun. What software are you going to use, I have very good experience with Freecad and openscad.

@ronsmitsnl I'm chipping away with the Fusion360 freebie atm. Have a lad with a Prusa who can do the prints.
