@hilldweller One other thing about IDE2 is the expanded FIND function. In order to get the same function before I had to use another editor. This is a small improvement. Those icons are 'Match Case', 'Match Whole Word', 'Use Regular Expressions', and 'Include Ignored Files' the 3 dots toggle between the include/exclude and the results.

Also of course there is a built in debugger (based on GDB)

Get thee behind me Satan. V1 is a thing of simplistic beauty.

Since the new version only supports 64bit x86, I'll have to continue using 1.8.x on my Raspberry Pi 3 based ClockworkPi DevTerm that I use while experimenting. Even if I'd upgrade it to a Raspberry Pi 4 core, there's no ARM release of version 2.x, yet, and it's not clear if there ever will be.

So, I currently use Arduino IDE 2.x on my Windows and Linux desktops, and 1.8.x on my mobile terminal. I didn't have any compatibility issues when switching from one to the other (I use git to synchronize my sources). All libraries and cores I have used until now worked fine.

Current projects:
- Modding my Gameboy Advance SP
- Turning Dalek into robot
Finished projects:
- Talking plant monitor (ESP8266)
- Mail box monitor (ESP8266-01S)
Other devices:
- Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB running Home Assistant
