@will Yeh, but if I put a library up with my name on it, and folks start using it, and then there is a bug,
Well, bugs MUST be fixed or the git source should be deleted of course.
or just a misuse of it
That case would be immediately (well, eventually) discovered and reported by some forum member(s). We have a lot of nit-pickers here who are desperately looking for nits 🙂

@zander My fave "story" - a manager runs a large project - let's call it X billion - and it fails. They are called into their bosses' office, and expect to be fired. They say as much. Their boss replies: "Why would I fire you? I just invested X billion in your education." 😉

@binaryrhyme Agreed, my library writing days are over. I have my personal use libraries, but I am not going to make them public, my time is too precious now, the clock is ticking faster and louder.

@will Exactly. There is a huge difference between posting illustrative examples and publishing a library. I *might* do the library thing - and if not - I'm happy if someone else does and runs with whatever drivel I post. 🙂

@will I am either one of the lucky ones or unlucky. I have both software and electronics experience although the electronics is quite old now and not solid state, still many of the principles are the same.

I'd say lucky because you're in an ideal place of understanding the basics both fields and just need to update and familiarize yourself with the modern implementations of both 🙂

@will I just wish Bill would publish links and part lists, I am still struggling to discover sources. I only just heard of Digikey, Mouser, and a few others.

@will Spoken like the true pragmatist that you are. Remember I told you I always want one pragmatist on my team to keep me grounded.

@binaryrhyme Had the reverse problem with my old employer, they hired two kinds of people, writers and software people. The writers had $1 a year invested ongoing, the software guys wanted to go to school 3 months out of every year. When they sold the software division it cost them $4 Billion, yes they bought the hardware first (A big NONO) and paid us off handsomely at 4 weeks per year. But what killed the project was lack of training and education. My fav was giving a guy who was a wizard at 8 bit ancient display terminals, but they wanted him to become the derivatives expert (I was on the old system) every day he was asking questions that were super basic and he repeatedly asked. He never wrote a line of code.

snipt
He never wrote a line of code.
I've worked with programmers who would have advanced the quality and quantity of code produced if they had done so as well :/
