Greetings!  I am retired after working 43 years for the same company, but the corporate flag changed several times.  I am a Mechanical Engineer by training, but I also really enjoy where control meets the hardware.  My first robot had hydraulics for power, and would shake the floor if not properly tuned.  Later, electric robots were much smoother and more powerful.  The language that controlled both their motion and logic is a lot like Pascal, and is the one I've used the most.  I'm still getting used to C++.

My first computer was the university PDP-11.  Although I often read about computer hardware while it was being announced, I typically owned one that had been selling for a while.  

I really love making all kinds of things, and really like 3D printing.  Give me 3D CAD, the LibreOffice version of Excel, GIMP, and BC4 and I will be happy for long periods of time.  The last two support my love of cameras mostly.  

I have enough hobbies to keep several people busy full time, but my favorite is chasing grandkids!
