Hi,
My name is Jo and I am very excited to be here in the workshop. I’m following for some time on YouTube.
I have studied electronics more that 40 years ago now but never used it in professional life: I studied and worked in IT ever since then.
I am a model train fanatic and almost at retirement age. As the grandchildren are enthusiastic about model trains, I throw myself in that field again. I am interested in controlling my layout using Arduino and servo’s for turnouts and stuff. Also Raspbery PI of course. And I like to make things myself for the fun of making and operating them and to reduce cost … and thus have more budget available for trains and cars.
Welcome to the forums Jo. There are quite a few other MMR buffs on here already so you'll have some company. I too have a bunch of MMR trains that I had plans on building. Not sure if I'll do it now as I've become more focused on Robotics and AI. I would love to do everything, but unfortunately old man time forbids living multiple lives at once. So robotics it is for now. ?
I keep the trains in the attic just because I can't bring myself to part with them. ?
