Hello, I am KD2YVR

In the us navy I was a gas turbine electrical tech. working controls and interfaces on a new ship in 2001. Loved designing circuits since then, I had been programing and repairing computers since discovering DOS in the 90's. Throughout my jobs I learned motion controls, interfacing and hardware for thermal cutting equipment.  I enjoy using my 3d printers to build what I need. I also am a amateur radio operator and like designing controls for my radio's.

 A thank you to Bill,

I  enjoy watching Bill's videos (repeatedly), he makes programing simple and stright forward.

Looking forward to the conversations as I love learning new things...

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, Bill is a master at explaining things to make them seem simple.

I too am a US Navy vet. (RMC(SS) Rode submarines for several years. Initially trained in crypto repair. then got into circuit (network) control. After the navy, I worked in telecommunications (satellite communications and earth station operations) for many years.

I’m a relatively newbie with Arduino and RPi. Have been playing with them for about a year now, working on interfacing different sensors to them (using both Bill’s videos and some I found on micro-controllers lab). So far, so good... Haven’t had any “white smoke” escape!

I’m sure you’ll find lots of folks on here with expertise in both the software and hardware side of things, if you should have questions. Once again, welcome.
