JST-PH JST Connector Kit. 2.0mm Pitch Help Needed

After searching for a video or instructions, I have to ask this NOOB question!

For the JST-PH JST Connector Kit. 2.0mm Pitch shown below, for the male connectors, should the wires be soldered to the extended pins, or should crimp DIPs be added to the wires and slid on? In either case, with heat shrink tubing added to insulate?

The male connectors are designed to be soldered to a PCB, but I guess you could solder on individual wires and cover with heat shrink.  But I wouldn't trust them to be very rugged connectors though,

Thanks, @codecage. I'm going to try crimp DIPs, and solder them in place. Unless someone has a better idea.
