UF2 Help

Hi, I am new to the Forum,

After discovering the dronebotworkshop video on Getting started with PlatformIO  and starting to work with it I ended up with some questions.

1st, about me. I have been involved with electronics for about 70 years.

Quite familiar with C, C++, Arduino.... and have developed several products with embedded MCUs.

I enjoy learning about anything and everything and making things!

Recently saw the article "kartben Artificial Nose" by Benjamin Cabé and started to play and discovered that I really need to use PlatformIO etc and here I am.

My first question relates to How do I create a .uf2 file.

I know I can upload an Arduino (.ino) to my Arduino, enter Bootloader mode, access the USB folder and copy the "CURRENT.UF2", but this seems awkward at best.

 Any suggestions,
