Hi, I'm Mariusz and I live in south-western Poland. I'm working as IT solution integrator so in my job daily basis I'm quite far from low level hardware like MCU and CPU/memory registers.
Few months ago I started playing with Arduino and Raspberry Pi's in my spare time so I joined this forum.

I'm interesting computers architecture, basics electronic and integration Arduino and RPi with infrastructure monitoring software (like Zabbix).

I have experience with Linux administration and basic programming with C/C++ and Java.

I verry like Bill's YouTube channel. In every video are enough detail to be inspired to try but not to be overwhelm.

Zabbix

Had to Google Zabbix.

Do you have some projects in mind to integrate Arduino/RPi type projects into your day job environment?  I wonder... any IT people I know start foaming at the mouth if someone even suggests a home-brewed device being in the same building with their shrines.  🤣

3 lines of code = InqPortal = Complete IoT, App, Web Server w/ GUI Admin Client, WiFi Manager, Drag & Drop File Manager, OTA, Performance Metrics, Web Socket Comms, Easy App API, All running on ESP8266...

Zabbix is separate company not part of Google.

I think it's depend of point of view. For me RPi is server with Linux and if it's Linux it can communicate with other Linux (or even Windows) devices. Beside it has GPIO so it is "bridge" between IT and different types of sensors. Adruino for me is also such bridge.
Eben Upton (CEO) Raspberry Pi Foundation) says they manufacturing half milion RPi boards per month and they are mostly sold to business customers so many IT people using RPi in their job (if will be opposite they will not buy it).

Simplest projects could be: RPi or Arduino as bridge between IT equipment and different types of sensors (e.g temperature, humility sensors in datacenter), air conditioning system control in datacenter reacting to environment condition changes (even with sending commands to air conditions via IR), sms gateway to sending notification about critical issue occurs, alternative internet gateway.
I know there are many enterprise solutions with this features but when price plays role Adruino or RPi could be an alternative.
