I'm dbelong and have been in IT for over 25 years and playing around with microcontrollers for as long.ย  Recently I found one of the toy remote control four wheel drive monster trucks and took out all RC board and put in my own microcontroller. I'll upload pics once it's finished.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you're setting up for competition with Tesla ๐Ÿ™‚

I bet that as a child you always took your toys apart? Old habits, eh?

@dbelong, Welcome to the forum!... looking forward to seeing what you have done on your monster truck rebuild.. Working on a PID controller for my tank robot.. it needs to control the speed to accelerate and de-accelerate when encountering an object instead ofย  just stopping 10cm from the target, then making a decision which way to go. What I want it to do is to start slowing down, make the decision to turn left or right, and then, when the direction is clear of objects, speed up to some pre-defined setpoint.. Still working on the software for the PID controller part, almost there...heheheh.. but I have a long way to go yet..

good luck on your project,

regards,

LouisR
