G'day, i am Wayne, retired (about 9 years ago) from the New South Wales power industry. I have a small workshop at home for building 1/12 scale trains. 2 of the models are diesel outline locomotives to which Arduinos and nRF24l01 radios to control their functions. They are petrol mechanicals.
With the power industry I many worked on the larger items or equipment and very little in the control languages used. Having read some books on Arduinos and their uses plus watched youtube I need some help to learn more about the Arduinos and the language that is used to make them function. I am very happy to be included in this forum.

G'day mate.

Welcome to the community, mate. It's good to see the Aussie contingent growing.

The trains sound awesome and I hope you will tell us more about them... especially your design and build experiences.

I'm sure a man with your obvious skills will master Arduino coding quickly... especially with the help available here.

Welcome Wayne.

The forum boasts many model train enthusiasts and your experience with petrol/diesel models will add an interesting dimension.

Learning Arduino and C++ may seem a steep curve to climb but start with the basics -  there's lots of tutorials on the net.
