I use an Arduino, a IR sensor and a relay to stop a trolley at the tracks destination. Once stopped,
I need an electrical switch to automatically reverse the polarity so the trolley heads in the
opposite direction after the relay has concluded a pause. I can do this mechanically with a Tortoise switch machine, but why?
Something simple must be available in the plug and play department that can replace a mechanical
toggle switch (On)-(Off)-(On) automatically??

Have you considered using your existing relay to trigger another relay which could supply reversed polarity to your device after your built in delay?
