Hi All, my name is Ken and I am a retired chemical engineer who made a career in process and plant controls and data acquisition.  I just turned 92 and am keeping my brain active by playing with controllers - what fun.  I am looking forward to the activities of the Forum and to meeting other members.

Welcome to the forum @kenbr!..Old is just a state of mind and,of course the numbers...lol

We might have something in common as I was an Industrial Process controls technician for almost 49 years.

Instrumentation, and process controls, working with DCS, PLC, DAQ, and all sorts of SLMC (micro-processors). Yes , this new breed of MPU's, and MCU's are indeed fun to work with....I've added a few more programming languages to my already full brain capacity.. but it keeps me going @ 77yrs young..Let us know how you get on with any projects your working on, now, or in the future..

Stay safe, and have fun..

Regards,

LouisR

I'm 81 also and am realizing much more free time since my VERY slow progress into retirement. Now, if I could just reduce the numbers of doctor appointments, I might get more done. What ever happened to the Golden Years that we heard so much about. Other than required physicals for the job, I managed to avoid doctors for nearly 30 years. Today I'm on a first name basis with more doctors than I can count on one hand. That may seem great, but not when none of them can find the cause of the problems. But, I digress. Welcome, and enjoy any time that you find to play. Life is short.
