My interest in electronics started just recently 2-3 years ago when I wanted to automate some lights in our apartment.
It didn’t take long until I discovered the little esp boards and as of now my openHAB installation controls several sonoffs, a few old 433 MHz outlet switches. In general, I merely run out of ideas — the limitations are more time and budget induced...
My next little project will be a couple of PiR sensors that should send MQTT messages. Probably my first question here ;-)

3D printer: Anet A8; I believe my model might even be a clone from the A8 by Anet as the brand is called CTC. It was THE cheapest I could find with a price of just 107 EUR… So far everything related to the Anet A8 applied to my model as well, in terms of which Marlin settings, build tips and so on…
Home automation: openHAB2 on UDOO-neo
development environment: MacBook Air from 2013
