No I used logic and a multimeter. There are six wires. Find the pairs that conduct in at least one direction. If they conduct in both directions you have the motor. If they conduct only in one direction you have a diode. Put an appropriate resistor and a LED in series with the diodes. One of the LEDS will turn on/off as you turn the wheel that is the receiver diode thus the other is the IR transmitter.
