I am building the WLED Dronebot audio reactive project but cannot find the right power supply. Just for the Christmas tree and family fun! I need a AC(220V)/DC(5V) 5A power supply for it to feed around 100LED's. Given values calculated by the WLED calculator! Can anyone help me finding or build the PSU. I will create a small housing for the project so the PSU must not be too big! Thanks a lot in advance for your advice.

@silvester There are several "5-volt LED Power Supplies" available on Amazon, such as this one, which is an external supply.  Otherwise, if you want one that mounts into a housing, you can look for the open-frame style. Just make sure to give it some ventilation.

Another great option is USBC-PD if you really want to keep things small.

@dronebot-workshop I looked at the specifications of USB-C PD. I noticed that it will deliver 3A at 5V/9V/12V/15V and 5A at 20V. I need 5V with at least 5A to power my 100 LED's. Does such a USB-C PD exist?

@silvester, 5 volts at 5 amps is 25 watts, and many USB-C PD supplies can supply that. The one I use with my camera is 65 watts and is also very tiny.

I saw this one on Amazon, but there are many more.

I did a video about using USBC-PD supplies, not sure if you have seen it:

@dronebot-workshop Hallo Bill, thanks again. I did not see your video, sorry, but I definitly will look at it now and I am sure I will learn a lot of it. I started ChatGPT questioning but got somewhat confused so that's why I came to you.

Kind regards, Jos Verberkmoes

@dronebot-workshop Hallo Bill, I watched your video about USB-C PD. That is great information to me. I did not know it existed. I'm going to copy all your examples to learn from them. I do want to finish my WLED Dronebot project before Christmas, so hopefully I'll have my power supply ready in time.

In the meantime, I hope your robot project is making progress in easing your mother's care needs. Hopefully, she can continue to recover.

Kind regards, Jos Verberkmoes
