Hi everyone.  I'm currently working on a Windows Forms program I'm writing in C#.  I'm thinking of making an instructional video on how to do this.   I'm curious how many people might be interested in this?

The program I will be writing is called "Robot Overseer".   It's a program I am using to have remote control over my robots from my notebook computer.  The program will be flexible enough that it can be easily modified to be used for just about any robot you might have.   However, in order to really take advantage of the program you would need to be able to modify the program yourself.  So learning how I've programmed it will be paramount.

I will be starting the project from absolute scratch.  No experience with C# or Windows programming will be required to follow along.   In fact, in the early going the instructions will be quite basic yet also quite powerful and complex in the ultimate abilities of the program.   The program will eventually have many capabilities including a fully configurable speech recognition engine that you can add to your robot via this program.

Even if you aren't interested in the Robot Overseer program you might still be interested in these videos as they will teach how to write a Windows Form program from scratch.

This will of course require a Windows computer.  Unfortunately many of the features I'll be using are exclusive to Windows.  Not the least of which are the Windows Forms themselves.  This will be a full GUI Windows program, not a console program.

If you think you might be interested in this please let me know by posting a reply in this thread.

Also, I would like to ask which IDE people would prefer to use, if you have a preference.

I could use either Sharpdevelop 5.1 or Visual Studio 2017 Community.  Both IDE's are free.

Sharpdevelop IDE 5.1

Visual Studio 2017 Community

I also have both of these IDEs on my computers.   I tend to favor the old Sharpdevelop because it seems to run faster on my computer.   But the two IDEs are almost identical anyway, so I'm not sure if it even matters which one we use.   But I thought I might ask before I start recording the video because I'll probably stick with just using one IDE throughout the video.   So unless there is a strong preference for Visual Studio 2017 I'll probably use Sharpdevelop 5.1  If you have a slow computer you might be better off with Sharpdevelop as well.

Anyway let me know what you think.   I won't be making these videos until late fall, but I thought I'd put this out here now to get your feedback.

Thanks.
