Has anyone bothered to remove the SM 200-ohm resistor or the diode to defeat the battery charging circuit?  There are a few references on the Internet that suggest a 5-volt source will cause a CR2032 to burst.  I used a few of these modules with the battery installed and 5 volts, and I'm still here.  However, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure (or 28.3495 grams is worth 0.453592 kilograms if you use metric.)

Today I took 30 seconds per module and flipped off the resistor with a soldering iron.  They seem to work equally well with or without the charging circuit enabled.
