@will - Yes, that's a very nice enclosure, as you said keeping extraneous wires out of the way. And yours has a power switch. I have to admit, the first thing my wife said was, "Is that the power switch," and I had to explain, no, that was the reset button, . . . but it was just as good as a power switch, really. 😯

I did just get a Prusa Mini Plus, after biding my time lo these many years. I'm investigating boxes, covers, enclosures via Thingiverse + OpenSCAD. Who knew mechanical design could be so complicated?

I really enjoyed Bill's article on

Build a Pico “Uno” – Prototyping with the Pico

I liked it not only for the concept (very well thought out), but because I immediately thought to myself, I can build this. I set about getting parts together, and, as usual, found I was missing a bunch. I was pleased to find Electro Cookie prototype boards that looked more or less like what @dronebot-workshop was using. Here's what I came up with:

4362

I tried to follow Bill's example best I could. I tend to "back order" whatever parts I don't have that the video calls for, but in the meantime, use what I have, just make do until the slow shipment arrives. In this case, I didn't have as nice a 6x6 mm pushbutton, but I'll get by 🙄

Also, note I didn't have the little rubber feet. I'm pursuing a line of investigation where I use thin slices of authentic natural cork, after disposing of the contents of the bottle.

Cheers, jBo

P.S. I did the "level 2" version of this project. I couldn't find a use for the extra, external power option. (Not to mention the extra complexity and even more parts I don't have). I appreciated learning about the power considerations; however, if I'm using it for demos, experiments, testing, then I'm always going to have USB power. Am I missing something?
