Not a huge thing but useful to me. Added some pin headers to a zif socket and stuck it into the chip holder. Be forewarned that the pin headers are much thicker than the Dip pins so this will make it unable to hold chips after this except in the socket. Unless you replace the chip holder socket soldered to the board of course.
Fiddly soldering but worth it.

Installed. the USB plug is gold because it has Kapton tape over it to keep it from shorting out on shields.
Perfect is the enemy of good. Hotglue is not a crime!
