Announcing Beta version of the "LoRa BME280 Sensor Network" a collaboration between Anthropic's Claude and William Lucid.

LoRa BME280 Sensor Network Dashboard image

Project requires two, "Ebyte" EoRa-S3-900TB Development Boards; one for Gateway and one for each node. One 74HC04 for each node to reroute the Lora DIO1 signal to a wake capable GPIO_RTC pin. One BME280 for each node.  Other LoRa development boards may work; code modification left to hardware owners.

Node duty cycle of 1.4% Active and 98.6% radio.sleep with ESP32-S3 in deep sleep for 14 minutes of 15 minute cycle. Wake on Radio initiates the begining of the cycle.  One minute is to allow registered nodes to repond to gateways command for sensor data to send to the dashboard.  Dashboard is running on Raspberry Pi in a docker container with a Flask web server and a SQlite database engine.

Nodes achive 175 µA average current and a baseline current of 25.38 µA.  Thanks in part to Ebyte's use of a ME6214 LDO for ultra-low power applications.  Current measurements were done with a Nordic Power Profiler Kit II in Ampere mode connected in series with the JST battery connection.  EoRa Pi is a complete development board  with two LDO's, ESP32-S3, LoRa SX1262, .96 Oled, SD Card Slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a built in LiPo battery charging circuit; all for under $17 US!
