Thought I'd share my experience for those of you who use a Mac. I currently have a Mac Studio with M4 processor so if you have a Mac with Apple silicon this will apply to you.
I downloaded the pre-compiled version of this tool and loaded the calibration sketch onto my XIAO-ESP32-C3/LSM303 setup. The tool didn't see any serial ports to connect. After a quick google search turns out that the pre-compiled version is for older Macs and you will have to download the source code from git and rebuild it. Below is the procedure:
The re-compiled tool now works perfectly.
