Hello Dronebotters.

I just received a RFM95W Lora module, for testing out the lora network in my area. Although I didn't realise (late nigt shopping) that no antenna is provided.

Which antenna can you recommend? It's for the European lora frequency.

The end project will either be a test-rig for sending values on the go for TTN mapper or a sensor.

I have a couple of those modules and for testing just used a straight piece of wire cut to length for 915 MHz.  Eventually I will use the u.fl connectors on a board and use a u.fl to sma connector to connect from the board to the antenna.

For Europe you would need antenna tuned for 868 MHz. Though the antennas have been known not to be optimized for the frequencies that they are supposed to be used with based on videos by Andreas Spiess youtube channel. Mr. Spiess has done a lot of videos on Lora.

@michaeldk Yes, use copper wire 8.6 cm long for 868 MHz.
