What would this "graphic console" do ?

ROS does have some graphic "things" built into it, but you need to be a bit more specific as to what it is you're asking. You may have already installed it (Unless yer using ubuntu, which I can only get to work locally for some reason)

Yes I am using Ubuntu on the nano and its complicated especially since the tutorials I can find are all for earlier versions before melodic I see its packages are installed catkin is set up but it is going to take some time to even scratch the surface while trying to get a better understanding of python with a lot of arduino  peppered in it will be interesting for sure.

Which package are you running ? Melodic ?

Which nano operating system image did you load ? Jetson ? Dlinano ? Jetbot ? (Nvidia offers many flavors)

Since you have catkin, you obviously loaded ROS. How did you load it ?

@duce-robot

I'm not using ROS on windows, so I can't help you with chocolatey (which is specific to ROS on windows)

But if you've installed all the packages for the nano, I might be able to walk you through getting  turtle to show up on your screen

Maybe... I'm not a teacher and I have no idea what I'm doing

I posted a video in the duce stretch thread but I'll put one with the ros files and my catkin work space we just might be able to get turtle bot open .from the tutorials I have seen it ain't that easy of a system to navigate from Linux everything is from the terminal .check out Justin Huang's tutorials and ros wiki tutorials . they seem really complicated to me .but a necessity for ai  and navigation and environment . so on it goes !👍😀

Well, yes, but, the turtle uses terminal to open a graphic window

As you said, it's kinda complicated

I've been able to use it to manually control the forward/backward/left/right, but it's mainly meant to be autonomous.

It does follow me and avoid things, which is actually all I wanted, so basically, the big one works, but I've added an arm to a smaller one that I'm using for testing, and I still can't get the arm to do anything manually, so that's what I'm working on now

Sounds good post a video of it I'll  be excited to see turtle bot environment! I have to put the drive gears back on but that's no big d .its  hooking the nano to the mega with the cytron motor shields that might be a bit challenging. Ros can work with so many different nodes that I can't see how the nano can ever provide the i2c pinouts to run an entire project with an arm all 50 sensors the tf mini and now coming this week sweep lidar . so you're right when you say turtle bot to start that's what I have been thinking to start all along.but it ain't gonna be easy I'll take this lockdown time perhaps to really dive in to this .its a good time to.👍😁 PS I meant corona virus lockdown but its no big deal Floridians go on lockdown if its going to be 52 degrees f outside lol.
