The passenger compartment is...Oh, wait. There doesn't seem to be one

No passenger compartment
in a drone that crashes daily
It's surprising that the people
aren't buying tickets gayly

They'll take the ride with all the risks
for the sake of aviation
For Spyder's lab has them transfixed
with devoted admiration

Step right up and take your seat
a helmet is provided
Don't listen to your lawyers
their opinions are misguided

An ambulance is standing by
should disaster strike the scene
But be sure that you have taken
the Dark Side immune vaccine!

I seem to have contracted poem diarrhea ?

I seem to be causing it

I'm working on a helmet... 2 actually

One still needs sanding and painting, and the other...

Not sure. Still a work in progress.

I'll show you when I'm done

Gotta hand it to you Spyder, you sure are productive!

Nice flight by the way!   Not sure if my poems actually reflected that.   I tried to make it clear that you appear to have had some profound success in my poem about how Wall Street and Fortune Magazine might have responded to your success. ?

For whatever it's worth.  I'm impressed.  You're doing far more productive things in your robotics experiments that I am at the moment to be sure.  Keep up the robotic madness!

It's great to see your accomplishments. ?

Thank You. I'm not sure that my progress on my robot actually reflects that tho

Well, it was fun. It was actually nothing more than a "proof of concept" tho. See, a guy I used to work for hired me to see if I could create a solution to embed a webcam into a hat, which required hours and hours of testing small battery solutions (as opposed to the large ones I used in the laptop), then when I presented it to him, he upped the ante by asking me to also include a solution to RECORD the stream, so I explained that the ESP already has a builtin sd card slot, at which point he told me that was not what he wanted. He wanted to record the live stream... from his office

That's when it got complicated. So I found what I thought was a solution (Snagit), and needed a stream to send him as a test. Of course my first thought was the cam in the robot chasing the cat around the basement, but I nixed that idea as not being nearly entertaining enough (a presentation is one thing, an entertaining presentation, that makes sales)

And that's where I hit on the idea for the camera in the drone, which is something I've always wanted to do, but, never actually had any incentive to put forth the effort. This gave me an excuse

Message received loud and clear. 5x5. Wall to wall and treetop tall good buddy

about how Wall Street and Fortune Magazine might have responded to your success. ?

That part might have been exaggerating just a tad I think. I doubt it will have any effect on anybody outside this forum, or outside this thread for that matter

If being productive means failing miserably at giving the robot any kind of movement that doesn't require me to push the joystick to make it go, or tieing a string to it and dragging it across the floor like a cat on a leash, then I am indeed productive. But I thank you for your thoughts 🙂

When writing poems I hide behind "poetic license" to the nth degree.   For extreme exaggeration you can count on me. ?

Having said that I think your flight was quite the success considering your overloaded situation.

I can write a poem that exaggerates about it. ?

Spyder's roll'in in the dough
he's always on the go
he travels all around the world
in a flying French Chateau

Bill Gates is just a pauper
when compared with this arachnid
the money in his bank account
can never be subtracted

His bottom line's infinity
an endless stream of cash
but don't believe a word of it
this poem's balderdash

I don't even bother.  I just tell everyone outright that I'm broke. ?

Apparently somewhere along the way I've lost my fear of the truth. ?

@robo-pi

I have a better plan. It takes a little more time to set up, but it seems to work for me...

It goes like this. I joke about everything. And when I joke, I use the most outlandish statements to make those jokes, and then...

If I want to say something true that's ridiculous, I can just go ahead and say it, cuz at that point, nobody takes me seriously anyway

I can admit to some of the most insane, outlandish, unbelievable things in the world, and completely get away with it because they can't tell if I'm joking or not, so they just assume that everything I say is a joke

Oh, I forgot, the critical trick to this plan is to say everything with a straight face, cuz that's the part that really gets them

My solution was to become a hermit.   That way I don't need to worry whether my face looks straight or gay. ?

Oh wait!  I keep forgetting that in today's world the word gay might be taken to mean something other than  happy.

This reminds me that Semantic A.I. might not be as easy as I had first thought.  Oh well.   When my robot tells me she's gay, I'll just have to wonder what she might actually mean.   I suppose I could probe her for more detailed information at that point.  I might end up having to build her a companion of some sort.

Maybe an aluminum cat ?

All of the memories she'll have... are plugging in a friend and shining up a cat

Not a bad life now that I think about it
