@inq Thats interesting and I have a couple of ESP32-S3 board.  Thus far only been in action for ESP-Now comms.  Might have to check them out some more.

I also see that using PWM pulses can also drive steppers and the PWM is generated by chip, thus also relieving the CPU, on a pico anyway, and probably the same on other boards.  And that puts me in mind of the Teensy 4.1 board so a quick AI told me The PWM frequency for the Teensy 4.1 can be set up to 600 Hz by default, but it can be adjusted higher depending on the application and configuration used.  Well if your going for the max.. 😀   Your'll be getting scorch marks in your paddock.
