My name is Diodato. I am a CNC machinist based in sunny Florida. I have been doing CNC machining in our family business since 1980. I am writing because I love the dronebotworkshop channel and the projects Bill does. I am a huge fan of Arduino as well and have made a lot of cool things myself over the years. Some of the things I made were a result of Bill's help from the concise info he presents on his Youtube channel.

I have recently launched a company building what are called "Landers" for Arduino. They are basically consolidation platforms that create a rigid architecture for assembling various components during a build in a convenient and fun way. Landers help keep the mess of loose wires and components to a minimum. They are modular and allow for expansion and integration of many different modules to suit a project or learning activity. The marketing team at Arduino loves the idea and we are working on a possible collaboration to build demo landers for their new Portenta boards coming out in June.

I'm working on a project using the Landers that I will show here shortly.

To Bill: I know you don't do advertising or anything of the sort but I wanted to reach out and see if you may want a few landers for any upcoming projects. I can also produce custom modules and landers for a specific project you have in mind or anything machined from metal.

For everyone else, please checkout my new company which is designed to make Arduino projects even more fun and please let me know if my skills can be of service to you:

Thank you Bill for making such a great channel with such useful content.

Hi Diodato, welcome to the forum!

The Landers are certainly an interesting way of assembling an Arduino project, it would be neat to see a video of them

Sounds like you are on your way, congratulations!

I actually do need some "custom machined parts", but for a rocker-bogie rover suspension, not a lander LOL! But as for a custom lander, I'd like to see what you can demo first. They do look very cool and obviously well-made - you do nice work!

One custom module I can see as being useful would be to convert the four legs to each have a motor and wheel, so you could make a tiny rover. A small DC motor or continuous-rotation servo would be sufficient, and you could also have a holder for a very small MOSFET-based motor driver board.

Again, welcome to the forum!  And if you DO speak to those folks from Arduino, please ask them to send me both of the new Arduino Uno R4 boards that they are supposed to be releasing at the end of the month, I've been checking the website every morning for them!

😎

Bill
