About Me
I came across Dronebot and met wonderful instructions on how to build robots using Arduino and DC controllers. I was very impressed by the extremely clear explanation in the video: Controlling DC Motors with the L298N H Bridge and Arduino. I have seldom seen such a wonderful explanation. I just started my Arduino journey, and I am working to build my first 4WD Robot Car.
I have been a software developer (CICS-Cobol/Mainframe, Microfocus Cobol/Midrange computers) long ago. I became a Salesman and Sales Manager at Hewlett-Packard which I joined 16 years. I had a great time. When I got retired at HP (age 54) I have build my own company in 2009 which I still run (now for fun!).
Last year I did some C, ASP.NET and ethical hacking training just for curiousity. My friend (HP-Colleague) played his whole life with trains using Arduino and belonging components.
A few years ago, I got an WeMos D1 R2 and some components from him to learn from. I made the WeMos blink and that was it. I understood the principles.
Unfortunately, he passed away, a great loss for me. Having still his WeMos and components on my desk I thought, come on let's go beyond the blink. Let my friend in heaven be proud on me. So, I bought some 4WD Robot Car (same chassis as in your Youtube video) parts. But guess what. I knew almost nothing. So, I started to search for how the boards and controllers are working. Your video showed me in a perfect way how to use the DC Motor controller L289N. Extremely helpful.
So.... the reason to become a forum member is to find more extremely helpful information to carry on with my journey. Never to old to learn. By the way I am close to become 73 years old
