Sort of a n00b to this small-scale building but have experience with large data center stuff, I could use a directory of good sources for components and trying to minimize accounts for purchasing, sort of like a McMaster & Carr for ICs, and electronic supplies.  I know many but also interested if there are guys in the community who are knowledgeable and sell niche components.

The big distributors in this space are basically digikey and mouser. The issue is that although McMasterCarr is pretty good even if you're buying fairly small amounts, shipping will kindof eat you with these two. If you're looking for massive numbers of SMD passives, newark is always worth checking.

But for home use a lot of us buy quite a bit from ebay, aliexpress/bangood and even amazon.
